Mexican fest to host ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’

Iranian short flick ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ has been selected to go on screen at the 2021 Itinerant Film Exhibition MX (MICMX) in Mexico.

Co-directed by Mostafa Rostampour and Atefeh Rezaeean, the short film is about a woman named Tahereh, who is a victim of very young age marriage.

She, who has suffered the aftermath of such a tradition, is trying hard to avoid such a destiny for her younger sister.

The cast list of the short includes Tahereh Sharifi, Mohammad Shokravi, Reza Alijani, Ehsan Etminan, Hanieh Farzin, and Ali Farzin.

The film has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Heritage film festival in the US, the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain, and the Eastern Europe International Movie Awards in Turkey.

The MICMX aims to promote exhibition of various films, to spread film culture and to support filmmakers from around the world.

The upcoming edition of the event will be held on November 26-December 11.
